Bereishit 1:1-2

At the beginning of Elohim’s creating (bara) of the heavens and the earth,

When the earth was wild and waste, darkness over the face of Ocean, rushing-spirit of Elohim hovering over the face of the waters –

 

verb qal perfect 3rd person masculine singular  

1438    bara - vb. shape, create -- Qal shape, fashion, create, always of divine activity, with acc. rei. 1. obj. heaven and earth; mankind; the host of heaven; heavens; ends of the earth; north and south; wind.

 

Who is this Elohim?

 

Bereishit 2: 4

These are the begettings of the heavens and the earth: their being created.

At the time of YeHoWaH, Elohim’s making of the earth and heaven,

No bush of the field was yet on earth, no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for YeHoWaH, Elohim, had not made it rain upon earth.

 

The first time the name of Elohim, YeHoWaH appears in the Torah.

 

Who is this YeHoWah and what does HE say about HIMSELF?

 

TNK Genesis 2:7 YeHoWaH Elohim formed man from the dust of the earth. He blew into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being.

 

 

TNK Genesis 14:22 But Abram said to the king of Sodom, "I swear to YeHoWaH, highest mighty-one (el ely’on), Creator of heaven and earth:

 

TNK Genesis 15:7 Then He said to him, "I am YeHoWaH who brought you out from Ur of the Chaldeans to assign this land to you as a possession."

 

TNK Genesis 21:33 Abraham planted a tamarisk at Beer-sheba, and invoked there the name of YeHoWaH, the everlasting mighty-one.

 

TNK Genesis 17:1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am El Shaddai. Walk in My ways and be blameless.

 

TNK Genesis 35:11 And God said to him, "I am El Shaddai. Be fertile and increase; A nation, yea an assembly of nations, Shall descend from you. Kings shall issue from your loins.

 

 

TNK Exodus 3:13 Moses said to God, "When I come to the Israelites and say to them 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, 'What is His name?' what shall I say to them?"

 

TNK Genesis 22:14 And Abraham named that site Adonai-yireh, whence the present saying, "On the mount of the LORD there is vision."
