Qahal Benei Miqra Beit Knesset Project Welcome to the Project page for Qahal Benei Miqra a Beit Knesset being formed in West Virginia. We will be located in Berkeley County West Virginia in the Eastern Panhandle. Also on the left are copies of the forms filed with the State. Our goal is to build a physical Beit Knesset and establish a base for a community in our area. This Beit Knesset will be Karaite Jewish. Being A Karaite means we only recognize the Miqra or Tanakh as divinely given. Thus, while we don't out right reject the Oral traditions of the Rabbis we consider them as commentary judge them in view of the Written Tanakh. Additionally, we do outright reject the New Testament in any form and its messiah (Jesus/Yeshua/Yahshua etc...). No person who accepts either the NT or its messiah can be a member of this Beit Knesset. According to IRS publication 1828, Synagogues are automatically Non-Profit (501c3) corporations. We are therefore authorized to accept tax deductible donations and issue receipts for tax-deductible donations exceeding $250.00 per individual. Next steps for the Project: 1. Start collection for dedicated website 2. Start collection for Building fund, Events, and Charity 3. Completely finishing space for Beit Knesset 4. Continue holding monthly meeting for members of the Board 5. Advertise for Members for the Beit Knesset/Synagogue 6. After establishing the facts on the ground seek Moetzet Hakhamim approval for the Beit Knesset/Synagogue 7 Build or renovate a building for the Beit Knesset/Synagogue.
